As part of the Shri Sarada Navaratri Mohotsavam, the South Indian Bhajana Samaj and Shree Pavitra Arts Academy presented the Bharata Natyam performance by accomplished exponent Nandhini Ashok and her disciples at the Ram Mandir premises in Matunga. It was pleasing to watch the dancers dancing with devotion and involvement.

The performance commenced with the invocatory numbers. THe number "Kamakshi" interpreted the varied aspects of the goddess Parvati. In the Surdas Bhajan "Hai Govind Hai Gopala" incorporated the power and the glory of Lord Krishna and the savior of all mankind. In this number the episode of Gajendra being caught by the crocodile and ultimately saved by grace of the almighty was enacted
Besides the Varnam, in praise of the goddess, the Ananda Tandavam displayed the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva in all glory and splendour when all the gods rejoice to see the Lord dancing. The programme concluded with the Swati Tirunal Dhanasri Thillan noteworthy for its intricate movements and the salutations to the goddess as the slayer if evil.
